OBJECTIVES

The Association has established the following objectives:

Assuring a universal and continuous access to learning, through the acquisition and updating of the basic skills and the know-how needed to assure an active participation in the knowledge society.
Assuring investment levels which are reflected in the human resources, in order to give priority to the most important potential in Europe: its citizens.
Developing effective teaching and learning methods and frameworks, for the pursuit of lifelong learning.
Improving significantly the levels of understanding and appreciation of the participation in teaching and its results, particularly in the fields regarding formal and informal learning.
Making sure that all individuals, during their lives, can gain easy access to information and guidance of high quality regarding learning opportunities in Europe.
Offering lifelong learning opportunities as close as possible to the students, at the heart of their communities, supported, if necessary, by ICT-related structures.
Promoting an "understanding" social model which assures equal opportunities in the access to a lifelong learning of high quality to anyone, and offers education and training based on individual needs and requests above all else.
Adapting education and training methods and work organisation, so that citizens can participate in lifelong learning activities and find a balance between learning, professional life and family life.
Reaching high levels of education and qualification in all sectors, in order to assure educational and cultural activities and training models of high quality, making sure that the knowledges and skills of individuals match up with the changing demand of professional backgrounds, the organisation and the working methods.
Encouraging and allowing individuals to participate actively in all spheres of modern public life, particularly in social and political life at all levels, including the European level.
Helping the reeducation of salary earners and the creation of professional services.
